Requirements

Education

Must have a post-graduation degree in any discipline (preferably in Social Science). At least 2nd Division / Class in all public examinations.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 35 years
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience of working with the children and youth groups.
  • Have knowledge of child rights & and protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
  • Having strong leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality analytical reports and facilitate discussions at national and international levels.
  • Adequate knowledge and skills in computer applications, especially MS Office packages & ICT and flexible to work in software.

Responsibilities & Context

SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Villages International is currently working in 137 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently has programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Sylhet and Bagerhat.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

Area of Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for running the facility smoothly as per the Children’s Village Programme Regulations.
  • Support the young people to bring up good human being with modest behavior.
  • Support children and youth participants to achieve individual goals through education and skill training.
  • Liaison with educational institutions to monitor progress and ensure quality services for the youth entrusted to our care.
  • Encourage youth to enrol into employable education and find suitable technical courses.
  • Ensure child & youth safeguarding and rights at every stage in the location level.
  • Ensure that agreed work plans are successfully implemented at the location level.
  • Ensure capacity building of co-workers on binding policies and its implementation such as child protection policy, code of conduct and other child safeguarding requirements.
  • Organize counselling/training/workshop/meetings for the youth and co-workers as needed regularly.
  • Responsible for the overall safety and security of the location.
  • Build relations with key stakeholders and relevant decision-makers in government and local organizations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an advocacy plan at the location level.
  • Responsible to increase partners and friends of the organization and maintain good relationship with them, contribute in fund raising work.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary & Benefits: As per Organization Policy (Negotiable for highly competent candidates). The post is residential in nature with family accommodation within the premises.

After probation period of 06 (Six) months, upon confirmation, incumbent will be entitled to receive regular Salary Scale along with Festival Bonus, Contributory Provident Fund and Gratuity, Children’s Education Allowance, Group Insurance (Death & Accidental) as per existing policy of the organization.
