Responsibilities & Context
Job Overview: The Deputy Managing Director supports overseeing operations, strategic planning, and business development at the travel agency. This role focuses on driving growth through effective management, improving efficiency, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring financial success. The Manager also acts as second-in-command, assuming the Managing Director’s responsibilities when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to formulate and implement the agency’s business strategies and long-term growth plans.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the agency meets its goals for revenue, profitability, and market share.
- Assist in analyzing market trends, customer needs, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide leadership and direction to the senior management team, ensuring alignment with the agency’s objectives.
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring all departments (sales, customer service, marketing, operations, etc.) function efficiently.
- Develop and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant travel regulations and company policies.
Business Development and Partnerships:
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand the agency’s portfolio of services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including airlines, hotels, and other travel service providers.
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns aimed at increasing the agency’s visibility and customer base.
- Review and manage contracts and agreements with Suppliers.
- Liaise with GDS & Airfare consolidators to integrate new contracts with APIs.
