• Diploma in Engineering

• BSc in Glass, Nanomaterials & Ceramic Engineering is preferable to apply.

  Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry), Plastic/ Polymer Industry, Tiles/Ceramic

Responsibilities & Context

• Supervise daily laboratory activities, ensuring accurate and timely testing of raw materials, glazes, and finished tiles.
• Implement and maintain laboratory testing protocols and procedures.
• Ensure the proper functioning and calibration of lab equipment.
• Conducted and oversaw tests on the physical and chemical properties of raw materials, including clay, silica, and glazes.
• Perform quality checks on tile attributes such as dimensional stability, surface quality, hardness, water absorption, and thermal shock resistance.
• Analyze and interpret test results, identifying deviations and providing corrective recommendations.
• Ensure all lab tests and processes align with international standards (ISO, EN, ASTM) and customer requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of quality certifications and testing standards relevant to ceramic tiles.
• Maintain detailed records of test results, calibration data, and laboratory procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive lab reports and present findings to senior management.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory activities.
• Lead, train, and mentor lab technicians and QC staff.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.
• Promote continuous learning and skill enhancement within the lab team. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues based on lab findings.
• Ensure all laboratory activities adhere to workplace safety guidelines.
• Manage the safe handling and disposal of chemicals used in testing processes.
