Responsibilities & Context

PURPOSE:

Report and assist the Assistant Director of HRM and be responsible for handling the HRM functions with special emphasis on ‘Training and Development’ in Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View. Develops and implements training plans which are aligned with the Hotel’s business strategies. The incumbent needs to help to coach, counsel, and discipline the employees. Support in developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. The Assistant HR Manager will work to develop and maintain an effective human resources strategy.

Area of Responsibilities:

Training and Development        

  • The Assistant Manager of Human Resources and Training and Development is responsible for supporting the employees to lead the design, development, and delivery of learning and development programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Proactively engage to identify key challenges that can be bridged through training and development.
  • Identify training and development needs of all the departments by Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and development plan within the hotel.
  • Work with departments to develop training programs and ensure the proper implementation of the development plan basing on TNA and deliver results.
  • Organize training materials and oversee training programs within the annual budget. Oversees the training and development records for all employees.
  • Monitoring the implementation of the Monthly, Quarterly and the Annual training plan for the departments as assigned.
  • Track and assess the progress of trainees/interns training module and provide feedback to the senior management.
  • Plan and deliver specific engaging training to up-skill members of the staff team.
  • Continually monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs and makes needed adjustments.
  • Carry out, maintain and improve training and development operations to enhance its effectiveness.
  • Administer and coordinate various in-house and external learning and development programs.
  • Maintain good communication with the institutions under MOU for internees in-house training management.
  • Recruitment checks and fulfilment of mandatory staff training e.g. Brand Orientation, Induction Programme, On-line training.
  • Identifies, develops and conduct training in the use of Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) online resources and technologies to support organizational development.
  • The Assistant HR Manager will work with employees to understand their needs, seek input and provide support for career development initiatives.
  • Creates a work environment aligned with Brand’s culture by conducting management skills training on a regular basis.

Human Resources Management

  • Collaborate with departments to identify staffing needs and assist end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings to bdjobs.com, candidate screening, scheduling interview and preparing job offers.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience and contribute to building a diverse and inclusive workforce which includes on-boarding process.
  • Lead and participate in recruitment strategy efforts such as career fairs, career talks etc as on requirement and instruction .
  • Develop and implement a HR strategy with defined key areas such as recruitment, on-boarding, mandatory staff training, supervisions and appraisals, staff development and reward schemes, sickness and absence.
  • Develop and implement talent management and succession planning as per policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures, including HR documentation, various types of employee contracts, Employee Hand book etc.
  • Coach and mentor new entrants, interns, departmental cross trainees to develop a successful career.
  • Recruitment checks and maintenance of HR personnel files, timely supervision and appraisals of employees, etc.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and assist in conducting events of such raising anniversary, different national/international days, organizing indoor/outdoor games, employee’s night, picnic, cultural program, iftar party, outside training visits etc.
  • Assist and support the department heads and above in setting performance expectations and conducting performance reviews of the employees.
  • Manage and maintain HR records, Personal Profiles, training and development records of all level employees.
  • Assist in the administration of ‘Associate Welfare Committee’s activities as per policy.
  • Manage, check, update and submit various reports eg. Headcount, training, over-time, attendance, leave, meal status, associate’s birth day list, associates of the month (AOM), health status and medical bills of the employees.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline and guide HR team members, interns, contractual and casual temp staff.
  • Assist various annual projects like promotion scheme, annual salary review, incentives bonus calculations, provident fund and update health insurance state.
  • Manage all employee relation cases in conjunction with the departments concerned, including performance management, grievances, disciplinary cases and appeals.
  • Ensure all HR matters are processed in line with relevant labour laws and regulations, compliance and the hotel policies.
  • Report to and provide regular feedback to the Assistant Director of HRM on any issues need appropriate attention to support the hotel’s business strategy.
  • Ensure the Higher Management is kept regularly informed on critical HR related matters and data, assist and provide support with HR related policy.
