Requirements

Education

Responsibilities & Context

  • Reviewing and double checking Proforma Invoices (PI), Commercial Invoice (CI) Packing list (PL), CO, Draft Bill of Lading and supplier contracts for the import of production materials.

  • Ensuring compliance with global trade regulations like Incoterms and UCP-600.Building relationships with stakeholders, including banks, suppliers, shipping lines, and C&F agents, to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

  • Managing customs, import/export transactions, and payment disbursement, while guiding the team on related issues.

  • Following up on import/export regulatory compliance, scheduling of shipping activities and send to PPIC and Factories, and managing the necessary documentation like Bills of Lading (BL), Certificates of Origin (CO), GSP certificates, and other shipping papers.

  • Handling tasks with government bodies like BEZA or BEPZA, BIDA, NBR, EPB and Other for necessary permissions and certifications.

  • Visiting banks, customs offices, and other relevant authorities to ensure efficient import/export operations.

  • Handling LC acceptance for packing materials with management approval and submitting Bill of Entry copies to banks to resolve overdue entries.

  • Conducting export activities with various banks including sales contract amendments, submitting export documents, and following up on overdue EXPs.

  • Collecting necessary documents such as PRC, NOCs, and CFR certificates from banks, and facilitating customs formalities.

  • Regular visits to banks, customs offices, and forwarder offices for document handling, BL releases, and ship-back goods.

  • Managing freight charge payments, issuing CO & GSP from EPB, and handling payments like REX.

  • Overseeing EPB enrollments, and application and coordinating permissions with BEPZA, NBR, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Managing the team in the absence of the Shipping Manager.

  • Any task that the Manager will assign
