Responsibilities & Context
Co-Founder & Director of Engineering Sales Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Vision and Strategy Development: Develop and articulate the long-term vision and strategy for engineering sales that align with the company’s overall business goals.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive growth and expand the company’s footprint.
- Market Positioning: Position the company’s engineering solutions effectively in the market, emphasizing competitive advantages and unique selling propositions.
Sales Management
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Design and implement sales strategies tailored to engineering solutions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market demands.
- Sales Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, setting clear goals and KPIs, and providing guidance and support to achieve targets.
- Customer Acquisition: Oversee the acquisition of new customers and markets, leveraging relationships and networks to drive sales growth.
- Sales Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance, analyze metrics, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve sales targets and optimize performance.
Technical Sales Support
- Solution Design & Presentation: Collaborate with sales engineers and technical teams to design and present engineering solutions that meet customer needs and address complex technical requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Provide high-level technical expertise and support to the sales team and customers, ensuring a deep understanding of product capabilities and applications.
- Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of detailed proposals and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer requirements.
Customer Relationship Management
- Key Account Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and improve service delivery.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve customer issues and concerns promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Collaboration & Communication
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product development, marketing, and customer support, to align efforts and drive success.
- Internal Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication within the sales team and with other departments, ensuring alignment on goals and strategies.
Market & Product Insights
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
- Product Feedback: Provide feedback to product development teams based on market insights and customer input, contributing to product enhancements and innovation.
Financial Management
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for the engineering sales department, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with financial goals.
- Revenue Forecasting: Provide accurate revenue forecasts and financial projections based on sales performance and market conditions.
