Responsibilities & Context

Bangladesh Youth Employment Consortium (BYEC) aims to empower unemployed youth, especially women, in Nilphamari Sadar Upazila, Bangladesh, by providing specialized training in handicrafts, including weaving, sewing, hand stitching, and hand loom techniques. Implemented by the Father Charles J. Young Foundation (FCJYF) in partnership with Classical Handmade Product (CHP) and in future with more industries the project is designed to enhance local employment opportunities and contribute to economic growth. The program will run from March 2025 to December 2025 (10 months). The project’s duration can be extended based on donor funding and its performance.

The Community Organizer will provide essential support in community-based functions, including direct engagement with communities, trainee recruitment for training programs, and ongoing coordination to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively visit selected communities and build friendly relations with community members.
  • Motivate individuals to participate in training programs for their personal and professional development.
  • Select trainees for training programs and maintain coordination until trainees secure employment.
  • Prepare and review action plans and assist in developing strategic plans.
  • Prepare necessary documents for project operations.
  • Submit timely reports to management.
  • Contribute to the development of full-phase project proposals, considering local contexts.
  • Monitor and record progress of planned project outcomes in families and communities.
  • Align with and adapt to the project’s strategic direction as needed.
  • Attend regular and ad-hoc organizational meetings.
  • Facilitate donor and visitor visits, including during unconventional hours.
  • Perform additional duties related to project activities as assigned by management.
