Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science

Experience

    • 3 to 7 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Dairy, Farming

Responsibilities & Context

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as egg production curves, feed conversion ratios (FCR), mortality rates, and body weight uniformity
  • Conduct daily flock health checks to identify signs of illness, stress, or injury
  • If managing a breeder farm, oversee artificial insemination (AI) programs or natural mating ratios to maximize fertility and hatch-ability
  • Proper handling of hatching eggs (sanitation, storage temperature/humidity) is critical
  • If managing a layer farm, focus on eggshell quality, size grading, and consistency of egg production for the table egg market
  • Oversee the operation of poultry houses (conventional, enriched colony, cage-free, or free-range)
  • Ensure all automated systems (feeding, watering, lighting, ventilation, egg collection) are functioning correctly
  • Monitor and adjust ventilation, heating, and cooling systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained in animal handling, biosecurity protocols, farm safety, and proper operation of equipment
  • Strictly enforce farm biosecurity protocols to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of flock performance, feed usage, mortality, medication administration, and farm operations
  • Monitor inventory levels of feed, bedding material, vaccines, and supplies, placing orders as necessary
  • Manage manure/litter disposal or composting programs in an environmentally responsible manner
