Responsibilities & Context

Role Profile:

The Deputy Nutrition Manager will be responsible for the performance of integrated nutrition facilities of INI program. He/she will oversight the implementation of CMAM/CMAMI/OTP/TSFP/BSFP/IYCF-E and outreach components of the program as well as ensuring a strict adherence to donor compliances and standard protocol. He will work closely with the procurement and logistics team in the program office and camp level to ensure smooth supply of food, NFI and medicine items adherence to donor compliances and standard protocol.

Responsibilities:

The Deputy Nutrition Manager is responsible for implementation on ground, capacity building, supervision, monitoring, and follow-up of the nutrition project under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Manager, managing center level staff, the INF and their maintenance, the equipment’s, the stocks and supplies, the hygiene, the beneficiaries and their caregivers, the application of standard protocols and SoPs.

Manage INF staff members and volunteers and provide operational guidance to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the project.

Ensure all necessary approvals for the project with the support of management.

Initiate necessary administrative, logistic, and other support in a timely manner to maintain an equable operation of the project.

Ensure that engagement with local government and other stakeholders is maintained.

Ensure that the team members have a clear understanding of the nutrition project, i.e., objective, outcomes, outputs, activities, implementation methodologies, etc.

Make sure that the team members are following their job description and can fulfill required tasks timely and efficiently.

Make sure proper attendance and presence of nutrition center staff and respecting of working hours.

Build the competencies of the INF team in line with the project objectives.

Take initiatives to ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the integrated nutrition facility (INF) in the camps.

Support the team in the proper planning and implementation of different campaigns (MUAC mass screening, VAS, and deworming campaign etc.).

Act as supply focal to work closely with logistic team and monitor supply chain of food and NFIs regularly for timely forecast and initiate necessary administrative, logistic, and other support in a timely manner to maintain an equable operation of the project.

Ensure the requested order for food and non- food items and medications prepared by nutrition centre supervisors are adequate according to the need of the program (OTP, TSFP, BSFP, Cooking demo, Mukhey Bhat Ceremony, and Micronutrient distribution).

Ensure batch wise stock reporting and CPDR in collaboration with MEAL team.

Ensure proper documentation of all supplies (food, NFI, medicine) and distribution in the central warehouse and INF level i.e., stock register, stock/BIN card, waybill/challan etc.

Ensure all the audit compliances are met with all the financial and non-financial documents in the central warehouse and INF level for all the supplies complying with financial and procurement policy of donor requirement.

Assess and monitor operational and programmatic risks on a regular basis that might have an impact on program implementation and update PM on a regular basis.

Establish good working relationship with all the nutrition sector partners on ground and the official authorities.

Make sure that a close follow-up and feedback system is in place for the referral cases (nutrition center, SC, OPD, IPD).

Make sure proper communication, and collaboration with other programs (mental health, WASH, child protection, GBV, Education, food security).

Skill and Competencies:

Educational Requirements:

Graduation from any reputed University.

Post-graduation in Nutrition and Food Science/Food & Nutrition Science from any reputed University is preferrable.

Experience:

Minimum 02-03 years practical experience in NGO/INGO at same or similar positions.

Necessary skills:

Situation analyzer practical experienced in Team building.

Basic knowledge on HR Policy, Finance Policy, Procurement Policy, Gender & PESA Policy etc.

Making any report in timely (Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Half Yearly & Yearly) which is applicable & submit to Donor’s agencies.
