Education

  • Masters
  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university but Social Science will be given preference.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the community health field, including at least 2 years of direct involvement within government health and family planning structures and their respective facilities.
  • The candidate must be trained in SRHR, MNCH, and Fistula, with experience in monitoring, documentation, and reporting. In addition, the candidate should have strong knowledge of mental health, gender development, and adolescent health.
  • A valid motorcycle driving license is required.

Experience

    • 6 to 8 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Responsibilities & Context

LAMB is a well-run major mission Hospital, Community Health Development, Training and Research organization. Services cover more than 6.3 million people in North West Bangladesh.

There are vacancies for the following contractual positions at the LAMB under Community Health and Development Program (CHDP), for Preventing and Rehabilitating Obstetric and Surgical Fistula through Gender-Responsive Reproductive Health Education and Strengthened Services (PROGRESS) project, with a three-year project duration.

Job Location: Upazila level, Rajshahi District.

Job Summary: The Field Coordinator will implement the project to enhance SRHR access and service utilization among vulnerable adolescents at the community level. S/he will supervise field-based staff, including Community Health Workers (CHWs), Community Skilled Birth Attendants (CSBAs), and Midwives based in UH&FWCs, to ensure quality service delivery. The Field Coordinator will coordinate with community groups (UC, PGs, PIs), like-minded NGOs, and relevant government line departments at the union level to build effective networking and support project objectives. S/he must understand social and cultural factors influencing adolescents’ SRHR. The Field Coordinator will be based at the upazila level and oversee project activities in the assigned working areas.

Planning and staff management

  • Responsible to make plan for implementing the PROGRESS project activity and also for execution at union level with quality services.
  • Supervise the staff of the PROGRESS project based in community/union level and to build capacity of them for utilizing human resources at optimum level.
  • Organize project event (training, meeting, workshop, etc.) locally or centrally with coordination for community groups, health facility management committee, faith leaders, local service providers, adolescent and youth groups and other project staffs.
  • Assist CSBA, midwives, and CHW in setting planning, implementation, assessment, and dissemination and support to strengthen community groups/institution.

 Program Monitoring

  • Support to TC-MEAL to measure the project progress, quality, and feedback for further improvement.
  • Support to management for ensuring quality of care (QOC) at service delivery points and establishing quality assurance (QA) system.
  • Assist to conduct periodic program monitoring and to generate the required report.
  • Support to assess the impact of the program and capturing the lessons learned from target community.
  • Assist to enhance knowledge and skill of staff on documentation, record keeping, and facilitation through follow-up, coaching, and mentoring.

Advocacy, Networking and Coordination

  • Ensure to make collaboration with all project staffs that enable effective communication with different stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective advocacy and communication with CG, UH&FWC-MC, health service provider, Govt. officials and local administration.
  • Maintain good communication and supportive to the field level staffs/volunteers of the project to keep them functional.

Developing the capacity of project Staff & Service provider

  • Ensure all personnel-related issues for the designated project(s) staff are carried out by LAMB policies/guidelines.
  • Monitoring and reviewing performance of subordinate staffs giving corrective feedback where required, and taking decisive action in the case of poor performance.

Beyond this, Integration of spiritual, emotional & social health

  • Ensure spiritual concepts & holistic approach in communication, service delivery, administration and resolution of conflicts
  • Comply with LAMB policies and practices with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunity and other relevant policies and organizational values.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the line manager or organizational management. Be an example in implementing the project activities to the organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Any other duties assigned by respective supervisor.
