Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor/Honors
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting

Experience

  • At least 3 years

Profile and Competencies:

  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Solid working experience in accountancy
  • Proficient in skills (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience with automated accounting and finance software (Saga)
  • Illustrate integrity, collaborative spirit and sense of achievement.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities & Context

Treasury/ Cash Management

  • Establish a daily/weekly statement of fund requirement for base and prepare/send fund request as and when required.
  • Manage the bank account (follow transfers, check balances, check authorized visas), the safe and cash (carry out withdrawals and payment of advances in accordance with established procedures, perform payments in the field, reconcile cash box on daily basis and report any discrepancies to his supervisor, replenish cash as per cash box policy)
  • Keep the advance books and cash journal updated.
  • Manage salary payment according to payroll validated by the HR & Finance base manager.
  • Ensure cash box security and confidentiality of information.

 

Accountancy

  • Ensure all accounting activities (filing of documents, allocation of expenses, vouchers registration, balance checking, etc.) in compliance with internal and donors’ procedures.
  • Ensure that accounting documenting are translated if necessary.
  • Communicate accounts on a weekly basis to coordination, respecting SAGA procedures and deadlines and ensures the monthly closing of the base.
  • Ensure the archiving of accounting documents according to internal procedures.

 

VAT & Tax Payments

  • Process to payment of VAT and Taxes through Treasury Chalan
  • Ensure compliance of VAT and Tax policy before booking
  • Control the effectiveness of VAT and Tax payments deposit into bank.
  • Keep separate files for VAT & Tax payment records.

 

Reporting

  • Ensure the creation of reports requested by his supervisor.
  • Take part of the weekly finance meeting.

Other

  • Cooperate with other departments and ensure support to them.
  • Liaison with bank(s) and develop good working relationship.
  • Undertake any other responsibility as provided by his supervisor.
