Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

To develop, source and ensure the quality of glass and ceramic components used in furniture and home decor products. This role focuses on material selection, fabrication techniques, surface treatment and integration with other materials such as wood, metal, plastic and any others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop components using glass and ceramic materials suitable for furniture applications (e.g. shelves, tops, tiles, knobs, decor).
• Select appropriate types of glass (tempered, laminated, frosted, colored, etc.) and ceramics (porcelain, stoneware, earthenware) based on design and performance needs.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure feasibility and aesthetics of glass/ceramic elements.
• Identify, evaluate, and liaise with external vendors and manufacturers for glass and ceramic components.
• Oversee sample development, testing, and validation of glass and ceramic parts.
• Ensure thermal, mechanical and chemical durability of glass/ceramic parts per application needs.
• Implement quality control standards to ensure consistency and defect-free production.
• Resolve issues related to cracking, chipping, warping, and glazing in ceramic/glass parts.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of materials, considering fragility and finish integrity.
