Technical Competencies Required:
Manufacturing Process Knowledge:
Refrigerator production: foaming, assembly line, cabinet fabrication, wiring, QC testing.
AC production: indoor/outdoor unit assembly, gas charging, vacuuming, leak testing.Production Planning & Control (PPC):Expertise in line balancing, takt time, and capacity planning.Knowledge of ERP/MES systems for shopfloor control.
Mechanical & Electrical Systems:Familiarity with compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, PCB boards, etc. Understanding of refrigeration cycles and HVAC principles.
Lean Tools & Techniques: Experience in 5S, TPM, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis tools (Fishbone, 5 Why).Knowledge of value stream mapping, SMED, and OEE improvement.
Statutory & Industry Standards: Awareness of BIS, ISO, ROHS, and energy efficiency compliance. Understanding of ESD, fire safety, and industrial health regulations.
Responsibilities & Context
1. Production Management
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations for refrigerators and air conditioners.
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Monitor machine utilization, productivity, and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with planning and supply chain teams for raw material availability.
2. Process Optimization & Efficiency
- Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Standardize work processes and improve cycle times.
3. Quality Control & Assurance
- Ensure product quality meets internal standards and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with the QA/QC team to reduce rejection and rework rates.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and lead corrective/preventive actions.
4. Workforce & Team Management
- Supervise and manage production staff, line supervisors, and operators.
- Implement training programs for technical skill development and safety awareness.
- Manage labor allocation and shift planning.
5. Equipment & Maintenance
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of production machines, jigs, and fixtures.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with factory safety regulations.
- Promote use of PPE and enforce safety SOPs.
- Adhere to environmental, legal, and statutory requirements.
7. Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain accurate production data and generate daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports.
- Coordinate with R&D, Design, Quality, SCM, and HR teams for smooth operations.
