Responsibilities & Context
- Red Cross – Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President’s Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 53 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.
- Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position of its Bhasanchar Operation:
- Duration of contract : Initially up to 31 December 2024 (with the possibility of extension).
- Salary Range: Up to BDT. 45,000/- (Monthly Consolidated).
- Reporting to: Program and Reporting Manager, Bhasan Char Operation.
- Duty station: Bhasan Char, Hatiya Noakhali.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Implement and regularly update the Information Management Strategy including all products related to site management.
- Assist in Designing and maintaining data collection forms, ensuring clarity in purpose, questions, and data usability for ease of collection and analysis.
- Organize, manage, and input data from collection forms and perform initial analysis.
- Identify needs and gaps in site management activities based on collected data and suggest actions to address them.
- Identify and incorporate secondary data and information resources to support site management activities.
- Assist in designing data templates and producing visualizations using tools like MS Excel and Power BI.
- Prepare and contribute to the creation of monthly reports for the site management sector, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission ensuring accuracy and clarity in documentation using MS Office, with strong English language and reporting proficiency.
- Maintain and update an online platform or repository for easy access to site management data, ensuring real-time sharing of key information with partners and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and project progress.
- Ensure that all data collection, storage, and dissemination procedures comply with data protection and privacy standards, particularly in sensitive or vulnerable contexts.
- Work closely with the UNHCR Information Management and Field Site Management teams to ensure alignment between data collection methods and project objectives.
- Assist in coordinating data-sharing agreements and protocols with partners and other external entities to enhance collaboration and data accuracy.
- Regularly review and update the data collection methodology to adapt to the changing needs of the site and its residents.
- Assist in troubleshooting data management systems and tools, providing technical support to users as needed.
- Assist in managing existing online trackers or accounts of BDRCS BCO.
- Ensure data is used to enhance decision-making processes, planning, and resource allocation at all levels of site management operations.
