Responsibilities & Context
- Design and analyse sector-specific gender mainstreaming (GM) scopes and priorities across projects and BRAC programmes.
- Develop tools, frameworks, checklists, and indicators and provide technical support to projects.
- Provide strategic advice, guidance, and thematic support on gender mainstreaming to project teams.
- Facilitate regular coordination with project management teams to ensure effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish GM result tracking and progress reporting mechanisms in alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor the implementation of gender mainstreaming interventions, providing technical and strategic inputs to ensure effective field operations.
- Conduct gender assessments and develop plans to enhance the GM capacity of project staff.
- Plan at least 30% of workdays to field visits and prepare critical GM reports aligned with project priorities.
- Provide advice and support to supervisees to achieve meaningful impacts on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
- Identify and address emerging gender-related issues relevant to GM aspects within projects.
- Coordinate efforts to address violence against women and girls (VAWG) and establish gender-responsive workplaces in BRAC offices and partner organisations.
- Prepare, analyse, and review project budgets periodically to ensure efficient financial management in compliance with organisational policies.
- Foster ownership of gender mainstreaming goals among project stakeholders through increased engagement and collaboration.
- Coordinate with other Gender Justice and Diversity (GJD) staff and units to achieve organisational gender mainstreaming objectives.
- Build and maintain professional networks with partners, national agencies, civil society organisations, and women’s groups to integrate gender in broader initiatives and promote stakeholder participation in local coordination systems.
- Manage responsibilities within a matrix organisational structure, taking proactive actions to address challenges as needed.
Safeguarding
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
