Technical Skills:

• Networking: Expertise in TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and firewall configurations (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate).
• Server Administration: Proficiency in Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, and VMware.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with AWS VPC, Azure Networking, Google Cloud Interconnect, and cloud-based server management.
• Automation: Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automating system tasks.
• Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, ELK Stack, Splunk, or Graylog.

Certifications (Preferred):

• CCNA, CCNP, RHCE, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in high-traffic, mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

• The Network and System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, and cloud environments. This role involves managing high-traffic live financial systems, optimizing network performance, configuring firewalls, and ensuring high availability through redundancy and failover strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in Fintech or banking environments, with a strong focus on network and system administration in high-volume, mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Network & Security Administration:

• Monitor and optimize network performance metrics such as latency, packet loss, and bandwidth utilization.
• Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection to ensure network security.
• Implement network redundancy and failover strategies to ensure uninterrupted service availability.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and apply patches to mitigate security risks.

Server & Cloud Infrastructure Management:

• Administer Linux and Windows-based servers in on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Automate system maintenance tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell scripts.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificates, DNS configurations, and domain services.
• Monitor server health, including CPU, memory, and disk usage, and perform regular updates and backups.

Monitoring & Incident Response:

• Deploy and configure monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus) for real-time infrastructure monitoring.
• Set up log analysis and SIEM solutions (e.g., ELK Stack, Splunk, Graylog) for proactive incident detection.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure failures and implement preventive measures.

Disaster Recovery & High Availability:

• Implement failover mechanisms and load balancers to ensure high availability of critical systems.
• Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to test system resilience and data recovery processes.

Collaboration & Support:

• Work closely with DevOps, database, and development teams to ensure seamless integration of network and system resources.
• Provide Level 2 (L2) support for network and system-related issues escalated from the operations team.
