Education

Bachelor/Honors
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, English, or a related field (preferred).

Experience

The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Newspaper/Magazine, Online Newspaper/ News Portal, Satellite TV, Web Media/Blog

Additional Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in journalism, digital media, newsroom management, or content leadership roles.
Experience working with a U.S.-based media organization or covering U.S. news is highly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla.
Strong understanding of news gathering, fact-checking, editorial standards, and digital journalism.
Experience managing editorial teams and coordinating multiple content projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, social media, SEO, and audience development strategies.
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience producing or managing talk shows, interviews, podcasts, webinars, or live-streaming programs.
Established network within media, community organizations, professional groups, or public institutions.
Experience working with diaspora-focused media platforms.
Understanding of U.S. politics, immigration, community affairs, and issues affecting Bangladeshi-Americans.
Experience with video production workflows and multimedia storytelling.

Responsibilities & Context

Editorial Leadership & News Operations

Lead and manage the editorial team, including reporters, translators, content creators, and contributors.
Take full ownership of daily newsroom operations and content production.
Identify, source, verify, and prioritize high-impact news stories relevant to Bangladeshi communities, particularly in the United States.
Monitor breaking news and ensure timely and accurate publication.
Maintain high editorial standards, accuracy, and journalistic integrity across all content.
Oversee fact-checking and source verification processes before publication.
Develop and implement editorial strategies to increase audience engagement and platform growth.

Content Development & Script Writing

Generate original content ideas, special reports, and feature stories.
Write, edit, and review news articles, headlines, scripts, and social media content.
Develop content calendars and editorial plans.
Create compelling story angles and multimedia content strategies.
Assist in video script writing and content production for digital platforms.

Talk Shows, Interviews & Special Programs

Plan, organize, and coordinate talk shows, interviews, panel discussions, and special media programs.
Identify and invite experts, community leaders, professionals, elected officials, and industry representatives as guests.
Develop discussion topics, interview questions, and program concepts.
Coordinate with hosts, guests, and production teams to ensure smooth execution of live and recorded programs.
Oversee live streaming events, webinars, community forums, and special broadcasts.
Manage event coverage and special editorial projects from concept to publication.

Team Management & Collaboration

Supervise and mentor editorial staff and contributors.
Establish newsroom workflows and ensure deadlines are met.
Coordinate effectively with social media, video production, and technical teams.
Monitor team performance and provide guidance for continuous improvement.
Ensure consistent communication and collaboration across all departments.

Audience Growth & Community Engagement

Analyze content performance and audience trends.
Recommend strategies to increase readership, engagement, and brand visibility.
Build relationships with community organizations, professionals, business leaders, and public officials.
Develop partnerships and content opportunities that strengthen America Bangla’s presence within the Bangladeshi-American community.
