Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

The human rights and development organization ‘Nagorik Uddyog’ has been working for the empowerment of the disadvantaged sections of the Bangladeshi population as a programmatic strategy for achieving its vision of a self-sustained egalitarian society. The organization has been implementing a project titled ‘Community-based Dispute Resolution Mechanisms and Improving Gender-Just Access to Justice in Bangladesh’. Nagorik Uddyog is looking for a capable individual for the position of ‘Program Officer (Training)’ who will be responsible for facilitating overall capacity building and training activities under the aforementioned project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop training plans, identify needs, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver capacity-building activities effectively.
  • Design and deliver training materials, workshops, and sessions using participatory methods.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training assessments, gather feedback, and prepare reports on training outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Build the skills of mediators, community leaders, and local government representatives in implementing gender-sensitive justice mechanisms.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, document best practices, and prepare reports for internal and donor use.
  • Facilitate awareness-raising activities on community-based dispute resolution and access to justice.
  • Establish partnerships, collaborate with stakeholders, and represent the organization in relevant forums.
  • Build connections with relevant stakeholders, including civil society organizations, and other allies to amplify project’s impact.
  • Introduce innovative approaches and stay updated on best practices to enhance training impact and relevance.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and donor requirements while supporting broader initiatives.
  • Undertake any other assignments as delegated by the organization.
