EXPERIENCE:

● 8+ years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and duties in programs focused on organizational development in the Bangladeshi context

● Proven experience managing operational components on large, complex donor-funded projects (with strong preference for past USAID-funded project management experience)

Responsibilities & Context

Name of the Project: Community-led Climate Smart Innovations to Address Climate Change Impacts (Uddom)

Position: Project Coordinator

Job Location: Sarankhola Upazila, Bagerhat; with the regular field visit to the project areas

Nature of job: Contractual, 24 months/ up to project duration – May 2026

Reporting to: Project Focal Person

Major Job Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will coordinate the field implementation of the USAID funded “Community-led Climate Smart Innovations to Address Climate Change Impacts (UDDOM)” project in coordination with the Head Office management, partners and other stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness and compliant implementation of activities. S/he will provide a broad range of project management, operations, and technical support to the project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Lead and guide the project team to ensure that project activities are executed in a coordinated and efficient manner in consultation with the Chief of Party.

2) Maintain accurate records of compliance-related activities and prepare regular reports for management. Ensure that all compliance documentation is readily accessible for audits and reviews.

3) Promote a clear understanding of compliance responsibilities and expectations amongst team members.

4) In consultation with the Chief of Party, troubleshoot issues, including but not limited to award, financial, personnel, and compliance matters.

6) Implementation of different project interventions in the project area based on local suitability and evaluation of the intervention in contrast of climate-smart agricultural point of view and farmer return.

7) Responsible for analyzing the local climatic and agricultural information required by the project to identify the local climate change challenges.

8) Responsible for climatic impact assessment and climate risk analysis on agriculture and framing.

9) Ensure close communication with local government and administration and support activity planning on the related authorities.

10) Ensure active participation in local-level planning and execution.

11) Responsible to Documentation, Article writing and communication tools development.

12) Responsible for preparing monthly, periodic, and need-based reports.

13) Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

14) Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

15) Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

16) Work closely and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues and partners to discuss operational and implementation issues, provide solutions, and recommendations and develop demand-focused climate-smart agricultural actions.

DECISION MAKING:

Decisions taken independently:

• Engaging relevant departments and management within Nabolok

• Drafting bi-weekly status update

• Organize status update meetings with internal team

• Organize weekly/bi-weekly meeting with senior management

• Identify internal resource person(s) to enhance capacity and competency of NLRs as per their need.

• Support timely and high-quality reviews and submissions of deliverables

Decisions referred to Supervisor:

● Strategic decision regarding the project.

ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES?

• Communicate with different clusters and forums

• Participate in different relevant Workshop/Seminar/Training

• Ensure technical support to other programs on climate change issues

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary Range:

Monthly salary BDT 95000 (gross) with two festival bonus and annual salary increment as per policy.

Other Benefits:

Provided fund and Gratuity and other admissible benefits will be given as per organizational rules and regulations.
