Responsibilities & Context
1. Backend Development
Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Laravel-based backend solutions tailored for FinTech applications.
Design and implement secure and scalable APIs to handle large volumes of financial transactions and user data.
Build microservices and modular architectures to support seamless integration with third-party services.
2. API Integration and Development
Develop RESTful and SOAP APIs to support internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure seamless integration with payment gateways, banking systems, and third-party financial APIs.
Optimize API performance and scalability for high-concurrency scenarios.
Document API endpoints for ease of use by external developers and internal teams.
3. Database Management
Design and optimize relational databases using MySQL or PostgreSQL for transactional accuracy and performance.
Write efficient database queries to handle large datasets and ensure data consistency.
Implement database encryption and security measures to protect sensitive financial information.
4. Security and Compliance
Implement robust security measures, including tokenization, encryption, and role-based access controls, in line with industry standards.
Ensure applications comply with FinTech regulatory frameworks like PCI DSS, GDPR, or local financial laws.
Perform regular vulnerability assessments and address security issues proactively.
5. Performance Optimization
Optimize application performance by fine-tuning queries, caching, and load balancing.Monitor and troubleshoot latency or downtime issues in APIs or the application backend.
Use tools like Redis or Memcached for enhanced performance.6. Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with product managers, designers, and front-end developers to ensure alignment on requirements and functionality.
Collaborate with DevOps engineers to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders on API integrations and system use.7. Testing and DebuggingWrite unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure high application reliability.
Debug and troubleshoot issues in live environments while maintaining uptime.
Conduct regression testing to ensure updates do not disrupt critical functionalities.
