Responsibilities & Context
Safety Management System Implementation:
Understand and lead the effective implementation of the warehouse Safety Management System in depot operations.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
Audits & Compliance:
Perform activities related to GWT audits and ensure regular follow-ups for execution.
Observe CAD audit requirements and ensure timely execution of necessary actions.
Ensure proper documentation, storage, and timely updating of all regulatory and legal safety documents.
Risk & Hazard Management:
Conduct routine inspections for electrical, fire, and general safety precautions, ensuring compliance and necessary corrective actions.
Maintain hazardous materials in a controlled and safe manner, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Initiate work permits for activities that involve high safety risks.
Training & Awareness Programs:
Promote a strong safety culture among depot staff through regular training and awareness sessions.
Maintain attendance records of all awareness and training sessions for future reference.
Conduct induction safety sessions for new joiners and visitors to ensure their safety within the depot premises.
Provide specialized training for the firefighting and first aid teams.
Emergency Preparedness & Response:
Ensure the depot is well-prepared for emergency situations by maintaining emergency equipment and conducting regular drills.
Support in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
General Safety Monitoring & Reporting:
Perform regular site inspections to identify safety hazards and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Ensure all safety incidents are properly documented and reported to the relevant authorities.
Provide periodic reports to management on safety performance and improvements.
Other Duties:
Carry out any other depot-related safety tasks as assigned by management.
