Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Technology, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Technical/Engineering, Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Chemistry

• Applicants having related professional training/certificate will be an added advantage.

Experience

Responsibilities & Context

Responsible for the implementation of standard protocols for the evaluations required in the determination of colorimetric, physical, and special performance of garments, fabric, trims, and threads and also management of product specifications standards to ensure consistency in the characterization of textile products from development to manufacturing stages.

• Creation and control of calibration systems for all laboratory equipment.
• Evaluation and implementation of new calibration methods, procedures, and test methods within the laboratory with customers to standard and specifications.
• Use statistics to analyze measurements and processes for the determination of accuracy, standard deviation, and tolerances of all laboratory equipment.
• Maintain calibration database updated.
• Identify and control all metrology standards for the laboratory.
• Plans and leads all calibration activities on time, to standard with minimal impact on laboratory operations.
• Inspects, evaluates, and troubleshoots calibration procedures to ensure operational accuracy of all equipment.
• Maintains inventory of all equipment and supplies required for its operation.
• Creates protocols and instrument validation plans.
• Schedule and monitor maintenance of all laboratory equipment together with Banchem´s maintenance team.
• Manages product standards database and all standard samples and/or references.
• Integral follow-up of new product development from the R&D design to identify and quantify product and process resources required to create a CTQ mapping (Critical to Quality), to the validation step for the identification and creation of control resources for the textile manufacturing process.
