Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in education from recognized institution.·
  • Knowledge of the local context in the Rohingya community.·
  • Experience in curriculum development, teachers training or education assessments.·
  • Experience in the Rohingya response and with the Myanmar Curriculum is highly desirable.

  • Able to work under pressure, Adaptability, Child Protection.·
  • Specialized experience on Education in national or international organization/s;·
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience within the field of education.

  • Strong understanding of human rights, Gender equality, Child Marriage, Sexual and Gender based Violence (SGBV) in normal and emergency. And also, knowledge on humanitarian and Protection principles and standards on Child Protection, as well as organizational policies including Code of Conduct and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

Responsibilities & Context

This is a project based position. This is a Ukhiya based position with extensive field visit in project areas of Ukhiya upazila.

Curriculum Development:·

  • Develop and adapt age-appropriate and culturally sensitive curriculum materials for Rohingya children in line with recognized early childhood development (ECD), primary & secondary education standards.·
  • Ensure that the curriculum addresses the unique needs of the displaced population.

    Teacher Training and Capacity Building:·

  • Design and implement teacher training programs, providing support for education settings.·
  • Build the capacity of teachers and facilitators in effective pedagogical techniques, classroom management and psychosocial support.

    Classroom Observation and Support:·

  • Conduct regular classroom observations to assess teaching methodologies, learning environments and the overall quality of education delivery.·
  • Provide constructive feedback to teachers and facilitators to enhance their teaching practices.

    Learning Assessment:·

  • Develop and implement systems for monitoring and assessing learners learning outcomes.·
  • Design and conduct standardized assessments to measure academic progress and identify areas for improvement.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:·

  • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to assess the impact and effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies.·
  • Use data to inform decision-making and make adjustments to improve program outcomes.

    Child Protection and Well-being:·

  • Integrate child protection principles and psychosocial support into teaching and learning activities.·
  • Be vigilant for signs of distress or protection concerns among learners and take appropriate actions.

    Safeguarding and PSEA:

  • To meet the program’s objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
