Responsibilities & Context
- Record and reconcile all money deposited in the drop box by cashiers.
- Witnessing (by signature) of all drop safe(s), opening of safe and counting of floats – reconciling to drop sheet per Hotel policy.
- Count and verify money in cashier envelopes.
- Prepare bank deposit slips for daily banking.
- Count own house bank daily and properly account for all disbursements made therefrom.
- Organize foreign exchange to be sent daily basis.
- Prepare General Cashier’s daily report.
- Ensure Front Office shift leaders have sufficient change for the weekend float and for operations throughout the week.
- Reimburse cashiers for disbursements made by the (due backs).
- Account for petty cash reimbursements and ensure appropriate receipts and approval of Financial Controller.
- Handle all foreign exchange receipts for banking.
- Monitor foreign exchange rates weekly to ensure that the Hotel’s rates are appropriate.
