Education

  • M.COM/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce
  • Professional certification (CA-CC/part-qualified CA/CMA) will be an added advantage

Experience

    • 3 to 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Additional Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in financial management and administration in development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and donor compliance requirement
  • Experience in NGO financial systems, bookkeeping, and audit preparation
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally or equivalent)

Additional Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prepare financial reports in English
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and administrative systems
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and financial reporting tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

General Required Qualifications:

  • Good Communication, presentation and session facilitation skills
  • Coordination and maintain liaison with communities, Local government, local administrations, media, civil society groups and related stakeholders
  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor/management.
  • Willingness & ability to stay and visit project sites. All posts are field based. So, selected candidates will have to stay at respective field

Required Core Competences:

  • Ability to work in a team with good interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate should have learning attitude, well behavior and proactive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize activities to act and decide promptly.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bengali
  • Pro-active and participatory decision-making and problem-solving;
  • Ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds;
  • Good understanding on issues related to gender equity and protection
  • Ability to work with climate vulnerable area and multi diverse community peoples with close communication.

Rupantar, a development organization has been working in Environment, Disaster Management & Climate Change adaptation, Democracy & Political empowerment, Peace & Tolerance, Children & Youth Rights and Popular Media & Folk Theatre.  Rupantar is now inviting applications from suitable experienced and interested candidate to work coastal areas for filling up the following job vacancies to work in a Civil Society leadership for better WASH focused project supported by WaterAid Bangladesh dealing with water, Sanitation and Hygiene based at Kaliganj in Satkhira District.

Responsibilities and Context:

Rupantar, as a partner organization of WaterAid Bangladesh, will implement the Civil Society Leadership in Mobilizing for Better WASH (CLIMB) Project in Kaliganj Upazila of Satkhira District. The expected outcomes of the CLIMB project are;

  • Civil society amplifies the voices of rightsholders to claim and secure their rights.
  • Civil society effectively holds duty bearers accountable to deliver on their WASH, climate, and health commitments.
  • Decision-makers commit to gender-responsive and climate-resilient WASH policies
  • Decision-makers commit to increased and improved gender responsive and climate-resilient WASH financing.

General Job Summary:

The Finance and Admin Officer will be responsible for financial management, accounting, and administrative support for the CLIMB project. The position will ensure that all financial transactions, procurement processes, and administrative functions are managed in accordance with Rupantar financial policies and donor compliance requirements.

The officer will maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, support project budgeting and financial monitoring, and ensure proper documentation of project expenditures. The role will also support administrative coordination, logistics management, and compliance with relevant government regulations and donor requirements.

Job Responsibilities Finance and Administration Officer:

  • Manage project finances in accordance with donor requirements, Rupantar policies, and applicable financial regulations.
  • Prepare budgets, budget forecasts, financial reports, fund requisitions, and expenditure tracking reports.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records, vouchers, cash books, bank books, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budgets and financial procedures.
  • Support procurement, contract management, inventory control, and asset management in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Facilitate financial audits, donor reviews, and internal compliance monitoring processes.
  • Maintain personnel records, attendance records, leave records, and other administrative documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for project meetings, workshops, training events, and field activities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and other statutory requirements applicable to the project.
  • Prepare periodic financial and administrative reports for project management and Rupantar.
