Assist the Chief News Editor in managing the news desk and coordinating editorial operations.
Plan and coordinate daily news coverage in collaboration with reporters, correspondents, producers, and other editorial staff.
Supervise news desk operations, including assigning stories, monitoring developing events, and ensuring timely delivery.
Edit and finalize news scripts, reports, and video packages for accuracy, grammar, and editorial consistency.
Liaise with field reporters, camera crews, and news producers to ensure efficient communication and support.
Coordinate with other departments (graphics, video editing, digital, etc.) to enhance the quality of news output.
Mentor and train junior journalists and desk staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing newsroom environment.
Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational editorial standards.
Stay updated on national and international current affairs, and ensure relevant and engaging content for target audiences.
