- Must have strong technical knowledge of knitted fabric finishing processes and their impact on fabric quality and performance.
- Must be an expert in knitting design for various structured, engineered, and semi-jacquard fabrics.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities & Context
- Lead the Knitting Design & R&D team for new fabric development.
- Develop innovative knitted fabric designs and continuously introduce new fabric developments to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure fabric designs comply with all physical and performance testing parameters.
- Plan, monitor, and execute all knitting development and sampling activities.
- Manage knitting trials, prototype development, and technical evaluations.
- Coordinate closely with Merchandising, Production, Quality, and Design teams to ensure timely sample completion.
- Regularly follow up with the Knitting Floor, which is located separately from the Head Office, and ensure all development and sample activities are completed on time.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for knitting and fabric-related issues.
- Research new yarns, knitting technologies, and market trends to introduce innovative products.
- Optimize knitting processes to improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain proper documentation of R&D activities, development records, and technical reports.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team to achieve departmental goals.
