Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry, Textile Technology

Experience

    • At least 10 years

  • Should have experience in both color lab & Testing lab.
  • Should have working experience with prominent brands of UK & USA.
  • Knowledge on Textile Production Process, Dyes, chemicals, ETP, and WTP processes.
  • Knowledge on Textile Production Process, Dyes, chemicals, ETP, and WTP processes.
  • Knowledge on Costing, Material management, Floor management, Management of Manpower, and Machines effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of reactive/dispersed dyes and auxiliaries. Continuous and exhaust dyeing process and procedures.
  • Vast knowledge of all types of LAB equipment & operational software.

Responsibilities & Context

Oversee and manage daily operations of both the Wet Lab and Physical Lab.

To follow up the Lab dipping to approval process as buyer demand.

Costing of dyes, analysis, and in-depth application of dyes in the processing.

Supervise the laboratory chemist and technicians working at the laboratory. Prepare an annual plan for the laboratory.

Monitor all processes of ETP. To conduct testing as per AATCC, ASTM, and ISO approved method –

a. Color fastness analysis for textile fabrics, like color fastness to washing, water, dry heat, sublimation, and crocking.

b) Physical analysis for fabric-like density, thickness, and mass per unit area of Knit, woven and non-woven fabrics.

c) Fiber identification by qualitative and quantitative analysis.

d) Water resistance and repellence for coated fabrics.

e) Pilling resistance.

f) Stiffness test for hard and soft feel of fabrics.

g) Visual colour shading assessment.

h) Dimensional stability of fabric and garments, appearance test on garments/fabrics, bowing/skewness.

Ensure safety, quality and compliance activities in workplace. Ensure and maintain a clean and tidy site.

Support Ready for Processing, color man to prepare formulate, evaluate, & develop new or modified products & processes.

Ability & willingness to work with chemicals in formulation development work.

Performs testing on trail runs of experimental & modified products & qualifications trails of new product/process.

Plans work efficiently so that results are obtained in a timely fashion.

Ability to work in multi-tasks LAB work on projects.

Accountable for preparing sample performing tests & reporting results in a timely fashion.

Accountable for writing reports summarizing results, data & condition of test procedures used.

Practice all health & safety procedures, policies & practices.

Research & develop dyeing/wet processing/finishing procedures to improve formula accuracy & overall product quality.

Carry out any other jobs as assigned from time to time.
