Responsibilities & Context

Job Context: We are expanding our cosmetic production unit and seeking an experienced Cosmetic Production Chemist to oversee the formulation, quality control, and production processes for our skincare and haircare brands.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing innovative, high-performance products while ensuring they meet industry standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

Product Formulation & Innovation

Develop and optimize skincare and haircare formulations, including creams, serums, shampoos, conditioners, face washes, and masks.
Research and source new, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on natural, organic, and sustainable components.
Ensure formulations are safe, stable, and effective, balancing natural extracts with active ingredients.
Improve existing product formulations based on market trends and customer feedback.
Conduct pH balancing, viscosity, and texture adjustments to maintain the right feel and consistency.

Production & Quality Control

Oversee the batch production process, ensuring formulations are consistent from lab-scale to mass production.
Maintain batch records, raw material logs, and production documentation for compliance and traceability.
Conduct quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) checks at different production stages to ensure uniformity.
Troubleshoot formulation or production issues, such as texture changes, separation, or instability.
Work closely with the manufacturing team to optimize production efficiency while maintaining quality.

Safety, Compliance & Regulatory Affairs

Ensure all products meet Bangladesh cosmetic regulatory requirements and international standards such as ISO, GMP, and BPOM.
Prepare and maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), and product specifications.
Conduct microbial and stability testing to ensure long-term product safety.
Keep up to date with global cosmetic regulations, ingredient restrictions, and labeling requirements.

Research & Development (R&D)

Stay updated with the latest trends, innovations, and scientific research in the skincare and haircare industry.
Experiment with eco-friendly and sustainable alternatives, such as biodegradable packaging and natural preservatives.
Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to create product claims based on scientific testing.

Collaboration & Teamwork

Work closely with the marketing and sales team to align product development with customer demand and market trends.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality raw materials at competitive prices.
Train and mentor junior chemists, lab assistants, or production staff on formulation best practices.
